1815 is the year engraved on the black lava stone of the cellars. That is how long the Scilio family has been active in winegrowing on the north-eastern slopes of Mount Etna. For their organic Etna wines they use grapes from old vines supplemented with more recent plantings.
Grape: 100% Carricante from vineyards with volcanic soil. The average age of the vines is 30 years.
Winemaking: The grapes are harvested by hand. After a gentle pressing, a classic vinification in stainless steel follows at low temperature.
View: Crystal clear, with light green hues.
Nose & Mouth: A fresh nose with hints of citrus, apple, yellow plum, white blossoms and light burnt notes. It is a very pleasant Etna Bianco with fresh acidity, a pleasant fruitiness and a slight bitterness in the finish.
Serve with: Grilled or smoked fish, white meat and cheeses.
