Gigondas ‘Aux Lieux Dits’ 2013 ‘Bright ruby. Ripe dark berry and floral scents are lifted by suggestions of minerals and white pepper. Fleshy and expansive on the palate, offering intense blackberry liqueur and cherry compote flavors that pick up a spicy element with air. No surprise, the 2015 Gigondas Aux Lieux Dits is the most approachable of the 2015s, as it had already been fined and blended when I sampled it. It was aged 90% in foudres and 10% in terra-cotta. Bright cherries and raspberries carry attractive hints of ground spices in this medium to full-bodied wine. The Wine Advocate 89-91
