At the city walls of the picturesque village of San Gimignano, the Biagini family has been making, for several generations, the typical wines of the region.
Their Vernaccias are among the best in Tuscany, but also their Chianti, Supertoscan & Vin Santo are excellent.
Grape: 100% Vernaccia from one old vineyard at the city walls of San Gimignano.
Winemaking: For the riserva, a selection of the best grapes happens. The wine is aged for at least 14 months according to traditional methods and then refined in the bottle for a further 4 months.
Color: straw yellow color.
Nose and taste: Soft complex nose, in which you will discover, in addition to white fruits, minerals and flowers, honey and even a little resin.
On the palate, it is a pleasant wine with proper ripeness, good structure and a typical bitterness in the finish.
Serving: Preferably do not serve too cold .
Storage potential: If you have the character to leave this wine in your cellar for 5 years (or even longer), you will certainly be rewarded for that, but even now it is definitely worth it.
Pour with: Extremely suitable to accompany all kinds of fish dishes. a.o. with Caciucco, a spicy Tuscan fish soup
