Firriato is a Sicilian family business, which has grown in a short time to become one of the leading wine producers on the island, and even in Italy.
Grape: Nerello Capucio and Nerello Mascalese, two indigenous Sicilian vines that mainly grow on the pitch-black slopes of Mount Etna.
Winemaking: Traditional winemaking in stainless steel barrels with further maturation in large Slovenian oak barrels. Bottling after 12 months.
Color: Beautiful ruby red color with light brick shades with aging.
Nose and taste: This full-bodied wine with beautiful aromas of ripe red fruit, spices and vanilla leaves a nice balance between acidity and tannins, between strength and finesse on the palate. A wine with its own character and very aristocratic.
Serving: Serve fresh, just out of the cellar it is best.
Storage potential: Young it is of an explosive freshness, but if you leave it in the cellar for a few years, you will enjoy its velvety power.
Serve with: Roast and grilled meat, game and spicy cheeses.
