2015
1815 is the year engraved on the black lava stone of the cellars. That is how long the Scilio family has been active in winegrowing on the north-eastern slopes of Mount Etna. For their organic Etna wines they use grapes from old vines supplemented with more recent plantings.
Grape: 80% Nerello Mascalese & amp; 20% Nerello Mantellato from vineyards with volcanic soil. The average age of the vines is 40 years.
Winemaking: The grapes are harvested by hand. After a soft pressing, a classic vinification in stainless steel follows.
View: Intense ruby red with a beautiful sparkle
Nose & Mouth: A warm nose with lots of black fruit, berries, mineral notes and roasted aromas. The pleasant fruit aromas are beautifully reflected in the mouth. The tannins are pleasant and ripe and the acids are perfectly balanced.
Serve with: Grilled or roasted meat, game and mature cheeses
