About ITALIA, LANGHE DOC 'Baile' 'Nebbiolo' Collina Serragrilli
'Piedmont' is a region in Northern Italy that is closed off from France and Switzerland on the north and west sides by the Alps. The most famous appellations (DOCG) here are undoubtedly Barolo and Barbaresco. It is a bit like the Burgundy of Italy, it is a neat and well organized region. The residents here are always busy, there is an atmosphere of cheerful zeal. In Turin they build cars, they make wine around Alba and in the fall everyone goes hunting, for truffles or mushrooms, boar or partridges, as long as it is tasty ... Turin is the active center, it all happens there, or it be it industrial, financial or cultural. It is a chic city where everything looks beautiful and the typical Italian 'fare bella figura', pretending to be as beautiful as possible, has been elevated to art, this is Italy! The town of 'Alba' is located in the center of the hilly 'Langhe', where wine making in Piedmont reaches its peak. This Roman city is the center of the region and buzzes with activity. It is the home of a number of large wine companies, somewhat comparable to what Beaune is to the Burgundy region. In the town of 'Neive' is the fairly small wine estate 'Collina Serragrilli'. It has been owned by the 'Lequio' family since the nineteenth century (5 generations!). Today it is the three sisters Rosanna, Daniela and Antonella Lequio who run the domain. The Lequio family has all the trumps to make beautiful Barberas and uses them optimally. The result is delicious, high-quality wines!
