Remember 1976...
As a gift and tribute to Pink Floyd, San Cristoforo now presents Pink wine.
Legendary Algie
The label is inspired by the legendary Algie, the blow-up pig that graced Pink Floyd's album The Animals. In 1976 Algie was flown over Battersea power station south of London, during the flight the rope he was attached to became loose and uncontrollably Algie flew over Heathrow Airport, causing havoc and ending up in the newspapers. Today, Algie is a universal symbol of freedom.
A bottle of the wine was presented in Madrid in May to Nick Mason, co-founder and drummer of Pink Floyd and Aubrey Powell (album designer at Hipgnosis) on the occasion of the Pink Floyd exhibition "Their Mortal Remains." Their laughter could be heard for miles around!
